The World is a Classroom

The next adventure begins here…

On the 28 April 2016, My family, Mum, Geoff and myself, will leave our current location in the Canary island of Tenerife where we have lived for six months, and drive through nine different countries to eventually arrive back at our 45 foot Beneteau called ” Steady on Jean” .
She is berthed in a city called Fethiye in the Mugla province of Turkey.
In the last week prior to our journey and then throughout the whole road trip I will be telling you where we are and what we have seen and done. But first things first, what are we doing right now to get ready and prepare ourselves for ( another ) road trip of a life time.

17th of April 2016

Today we spent the day planning, sorting and creating things for the road trip.
This morning I wrote down the routes we could take and that were sensible to use on our long arduous journey across the European continent.
The idea I had in mind for the journey was:
Idea 1: From Huevla, we’d take the EO1 to Sevilla and then, south to following the EO5 to Cadiz. From there it’s the E15 up to Barcelona and along the French Rivera, using the E80.
Once in Italy we’d go north to a place called Alessandra on the E25 and through the Eastern European countries, we’d take the E70, E75, E79, E90 and the E87 through Turkey.
Unlike the other road trips I had done in the past two years, this would be our first ever time camping in some of the countries – so as well as planning routes we checked our tent was suitable, and then Mum and Geoff set about trying to create this blog so I could tell everyone in the world about my travels🙂
(after creating this website,they went on to say that it was a pain in the bum!) that was the tame version of their language, both Mum and Geoff are technophobes, so this is a new quest completely for them, after much swearing and tantrums, mum still doesn’t think it’s right!

I am very excited to be expanding my knowledge of the European countries and the cultures of them. But I am most exited to be camping in a different place each night !

Although I have done road trips before, this is certainly going to be a different one!
I’m sure that I’ll mention my past travels in the pages that follow and inform you about the good, the bad and the ugly from the 5 other long road trips I have already been on, but for now it’s enough to say that my last five long journeys took me by sea and land through fourteen countries.
