Its Never Gonna Fit in the Car!

We just need to squash things down a bit……………………

23rd April 2016

Yesterday I did not create a blog. This was because there was not much to say about relaxing by the pool in the glorious  sun shine, I did catch some of Evies’ ducks though. Today, however, was completely different, today the house is upside down, mother is flapping like a headless chicken, sacrificing shoes to the bin bag, clothes to the charity sacks and everybody is getting under everybody elses feet, except Geoff, who seems to have vanished? Clothes and bags flung everywhere, and people filling the bags up to the brim! Sitting on suitcases and mum being precious about which cushions she will or will or will take! I guess we are taking all the cushions, hey mum?

Today we also had a plan of what our route was. We had a planning session last night and we seemed to have come up with a sensible and reasonable trip:

Once back onto mainland Spain we would spend one day at where the ferry docks in Huelva, mum booked a Hotel for that night, we got into the one which we had stayed at on the way to Tenerife. Geoff and I both know what sort of problems we will be facing when we get off the 32 hour boat trip, namely that Asena will be filthy and stinking, so its really important that we are in a suitable place to give her a cheeky bath!

The next day we will drive down the coast about 200 miles to a lovely place called Tariffa. There is a lovely beach here that we know about, as we stayed here also en route to Tenerife, and hopefully the weather will be good as we will be there for two nights. We booked a hotel here aswell and then after that we will head out into somewhere in the Sierra Nevada’s roughing it! Mums located a couple of campsites and depending on whether we like the place we can decide the length of our stay. Onwards to Valencia, Tarragona, Andorra, Toulon, Verona, Osijek, Nis, Serres, and with the current rough plan we would have 4 spare days before we are allowed to enter Turkey.

The reason time is a factor with our entry back into Turkey is that in there an English registered vehicle has to be out of the country for more than 185 days, then it qualifies to be allowed to stay back in the country for two years. ( this is as far as we are aware, the Turkish laws change a bit like the English weather!) Our rough guide means we should hit Turkey on May 23rd.

mum has also found a cool stable to use when we do get back to Fethiye, but I’ll tell you about that tomorrow.

I am a 13 year old boy and live and am home schooled by my parents aboard our 45 foot sailing yacht which we sail from Turkey. I have travelled through/ across Europe by road, several times now, but this winter my family and I will be setting of in to the heart of Turkey, including Konya, where hopefully we will be able to see the hypnotic Whirling dervishes, Cappadocia, where we can visit the fairy chimneys, caves houses, and watch the hot air balloons lift in to the sky. We will also get to visit the wonderful Turkish Coastline, including hotspots like Antalya, Alanya and Mersin. I hope you can come along for the ride, then sail along with me as I blog my sailing adventures for next year!
